The ‘Amsterdam Leiden Intensive care Echography’ (ALIFE) research group aims to improve patient care by bringing POCUS to a higher level. Research focusses on ultrasound of lungs, diaphragm, heart, and the vasculature. In addition, this website is a platform for the distribution of ultrasound standard operating procedures among researchers who want to start a new study on POCUS. We are always looking for collaborations, both national and international.

We published an educational series of POCUS manuscripts in The Netherlands Journal of Critical Care (www.njcc.nl). Some of the text of this website is based on these manuscripts, with permission.
